The Fire Safety (Residential Evacuation Plans) (England) Regulations 2025
Overview of the Legislation The Fire Safety (Residential Evacuation Plans) (England) Regulations 2025 come into force on 6 April 2026 and apply to residential buildings in England that are 18 metres or taller, have seven or more storeys, or over 11 metres with a simultaneous evacuation strategy. The regulations were introduced following recommendations from the Grenfell Tower Inquiry to improve fire safety and evacuation for residents who may have difficulty self-evacuating due to mobility, sensory, or cognitive impairments.
