The Evacuation Company has been a trusted partner of the University of Cambridge for over seven years, starting with our involvement in the new Civil Engineering Building project.
Our initial task was to ensure the safe evacuation of wheelchair users who preferred not to transfer during emergencies. This initiative was inspired by the University’s consideration of Professor Stephen Hawking’s legacy, using his situation as a model for evacuation planning.
Over the following two years, in close partnership with the University’s Estates Manager, we conducted comprehensive access audits across all campus buildings. This approach enabled us to replace damaged equipment with our specialised solutions and integrate with existing systems seamlessly.
Our commitment to ongoing support and relationship building has been pivotal in maintaining our partnership with the University of Cambridge. We continue to provide regular training sessions to enhance staff knowledge, ensuring they are proficient in using evacuation equipment. Our dedication to aftercare extends to ongoing equipment servicing and responsive support, ensuring the University remains safe and compliant with evacuation regulations.
“We take pride in our long-standing relationship with the University of Cambridge. Our consistent delivery of high-quality service and our focus on exceeding client expectations have solidified our role as their trusted evacuation partner.” Chris Persey, Managing Director, The Evacuation Company
