While the office had an accessible lift and step-free access, the facilities manager, Edel Ryan, was concerned about the risks posed during an emergency evacuation. The recommended solution was the Skyline stair climber, a model known for its effectiveness and ease of use. Chris also offered to customise the climber to fit Dan’s wheelchair seamlessly. After the climber was adapted, it was trialled on site, and Dan, along with the team, received comprehensive training on how to use the equipment during an evacuation.
